About

I’m CinnamonDevil, a freelance artist and illustrator from Germany. About eight years ago, I gained foothold in the metal music scene by illustrating album covers and merch and got to work with a bunch of talented musicians from around the world. Furthermore, I got the opportunity to work in other fields such as tattoo design, book cover and game illustration.

My style is influenced by natural history illustrations, renaissance woodcut, romanticism, art noveau and (contrasting) by the old school punk and metal DIY scene.
Also, the interplay of nature and culture fuels my inspiration. With inks, watercolors and gouache I explore and re-imagine the beauty, the indifference and the malevolence in this relationship. I’m convinced, that understanding our surroundings helps us to understand ourselves better.

When I’m not drawing you can find me taking care of my plant friends, wandering through the woods or playing the bass guitar in a punk band.
