Nature as well as field guides about animals, plants, and other natural observations have always been a major inspiration for me. Studying different subjects from life and photographs as well as the practice of nature journaling trained my observation and artistic skills and helped me understand why something evolved in a certain way, what is its purpose or how it works. These learnings influence my other types of works, because even fantastical landscapes and creatures rely on certain mechanics, which make their existence appear plausible. And so can shapes and forms inspire the creation of new myths.
